Touch&Play Mexico

Facing the Mirror

Touch&Play is an international project – an adventurous, embodied, silly, sexy, slightly chaotic, and wildly loving & heart-centered family – that has found its way to the shores of Mexico.

We - the organizers - are a group of Mexican, U.S. American, and European artists & facilitators, coming together in cross-cultural collaboration.

And we - the participants - are a group of dancers, movers, somatic learners, spiritual magic makers, embodied humans, vulnerable deep-divers, and relational explorers. With curiosity, care, and perhaps a bit of mischief, we call in this community to gather in a new creation.

All are welcome, to come as your full, unfiltered, beautiful self.

Here, we can cultivate a space of radical permission - of removing the layers and wounds of shame, stigma, and oppression, and remembering a sense of freedom, choice, authenticity, and deep connection.

Touch&Play is a branch off of the contact improvisation (CI) dance community; while traditional CI asks what happens when two physical bodies meet, we ask what happens when two alchemical humans meet. We will research, experientially, these questions around the nuances of social dynamics.

We will explore ourselves as relational beings, in relational bodies. We can delve into our relationships to ourselves, to each other, to the natural world, and to the divine (whatever that means for each of us!).

We will hold a container of embodied consent and boundaries, inclusivity, support, and radical nonjudgment; we hope to cultivate a sense of trust for edge-pushing explorations to bravely unfold.

We are so excited to introduce this second iteration of Touch&Play Mexico. Come join us and make your mark as this community continues to evolve - to be shaped by new leaders and participants, new lands and cultures.

With deep love for this project and for the spirit of co-creation, we extend this offering to you!
